From Customer Feedback to Top-10 Bank: The Visibility Effect at Raiffeisen Vorarlberg

In just six months, Raiffeisenbank Bregenz and Raiffeisenbank Montfort doubled their online review base, made it into the top 10 highest-rated branches in Austria, and went from “not recommended” to being recommended by ChatGPT.

The challenge: No metrics on advisory quality, no online presence

Before hypt, neither bank had a tool to measure customer satisfaction. The quality of advice was there. It just wasn't visible.

Externally, this showed up in the Google reviews. At Montfort, five of the eight branches were below the relevance threshold of 15 reviews, so they didn't appear in comparisons and rankings from industry studies such as the hypt Report.

The gap became clearest in a test in January. Asked which bank advisory service in the region to recommend, ChatGPT answered: “Based on the public reviews, I would not recommend the advisory service at Raiffeisenbank.”

The problem wasn't the advice. The problem was that the public data didn't reflect what was actually happening in the branches.

The solution: Survey & activation after every conversation

Both banks rolled out hypt at all locations. Three months from decision to go-live.

Satisfaction is now captured after every advisory conversation, as a dialogue and within seconds. Three things happen at once:

  • Measure satisfaction in realtime. After every conversation, not in hindsight.
  • Make positive experiences visible. Satisfied customers are prompted directly to leave a Google review and to recommend the bank, while the experience is still fresh.
  • Empower employees. Praise reaches advisors directly in their inbox.

The result: Survey & activation after every conversation

1. Reputation and visibility: Review volume doubled, Bregenz in Austria's top 10

In six months, 480 new Google reviews came in, an increase of 108 percent. The average Google rating improved from 4.38 to 4.74, with individual branches gaining up to 0.7 points.

This changed the position in the market. The hypt Report 2026 analyzes the Google reviews of 3,447 bank branches in Austria. Today, the Raiffeisenbank Bregenz branch on Rheinstrasse ranks 7th among all Raiffeisen branches and 10th among all banks in Austria.

At Montfort, the groundwork had to be laid first. In March, five of the eight branches were below the relevance threshold of 15 reviews and appeared in no comparison. Today, seven of eight are ranked. Rankweil climbed in the national ranking from rank 144 to rank 26, Altenstadt from rank 149 to rank 41.

The improved online reputation has further positive effects, though. In January, ChatGPT explicitly advised against the advisory service at Montfort, citing the public reviews. In August, after 321 new reviews, the answer to the same question was different:

2. Employees: 1,360 motivating pieces of feedback in the inbox

The quality of advice became visible not only externally, but internally too. 1,360 positive responses landed directly with the advisors. Praise that used to evaporate in the conversation now arrives in writing, the same day. That changes how a team talks about its own work.

‍

3. Real-time quality: from gut feeling to early warning system

61 percent of responses consisted of a rating and a detailed written comment.

This changes two things. For individual advisors, it creates a concrete basis for development: what lands, what doesn't. For the bank, it creates an early warning system.

What matters isn't the snapshot but the continuity. If quality slips at a location, it now shows up within weeks, not only once customers switch banks.

‍

Conclusion: Measure satisfaction and make it visible to the outside

An initial interest in customer opinion has led to a major shift in public perception. Within six months, the two Vorarlberg Raiffeisen banks more than doubled their review count, and their Google rating went from good to excellent. The result: Raiffeisenbank Bregenz is among the 10 best bank branches in Austria, and together with Raiffeisenbank Montfort it is recommended by large language models such as ChatGPT as one of the best banks in the region.

At the same time, the banks have established an early warning system, given advisors direct access to customer opinion, and created a way for the bank to grow.

The Vorarlberg Raiffeisen banks now also use hypt in the service center & at events. What began as a tool for the advisory conversation has become an infrastructure that listens across the entire customer relationship. The solution is now being rolled out nationwide.

None of these changes come from new advisory performance. The quality was there before. What was missing was a mechanism to listen to customers and make that quality visible. The quality of advice decides whether someone comes back. The visibility of that quality decides whether someone comes at all.
